thirteen reasons why i love top chef!
(wednesdays at 10 pm on Bravo)
1) i get to hear anthony bourdain say things like, "it totally didn't suck",
when referring to michael's stuffed baked potato in season 2.
2) the top chef kitchen *swoons* the kitchen!
3) where else can you see folks get tossed of the culinary island for under salting?
4) we learn that undercooked beets will destroy you
5) we get to see lots of offal. offal, the generally less-appealing bits of edible
animals: pigs' feet, kidneys, chicken feet and rooster combs, pigs blood,
oxtail, sweetbreads (which, I always thought were brains, but are actually
glands; this makes me exactly zero times more likely to ever order them)
6) we learn that there are people out there that actually DO cook geoduck (in
spite of what it actually looks like)
7) we get to watch young chefs scramble to produce a gourmet meal out of
frog legs, chicken liver, eggplant, cornflakes and peanut butter. (yes, really)
8) bacon ice cream. and that's all i'll say about that.
9) where else can you see a couple of chefs get drunk and shave their heads on
national tv?
10) where else can you see an episode where the chefs must create a meal
without cooking (season 2 episode 7) and then have a chef be eliminated in
a later episode for doing just that? ( judge to host, "but he didn't cook anything" )
11) we see that it IS possible to create a family friendly healthy meal with only
$10 at the whole foods market. yeah right.
12) yes, virginia, you can cook a tempting gourmet meal with the ingredients solely
from a convenience store or vending machines.
13) sam talbot........need i say more?

Blessings!

I love watching Anthony Bourdain... I didn't realize he had been a judge on Top Chef... may have to watch for the reruns on that one.
Great TT and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Ohhh great list! I love Top Chef :)
I also like Top Chef!
I like Top Chef ok -- it's my fave of the Bravo competition shows. Mind you it's pretty watered down compared to Hell's Kitchen.
I saw the first episode of the new season last night. Since I can't taste any of the food, I root for the contestants according to how hot they are -- which means I always want the men to be eliminated.
I have not watched Top Chef but I always hear that people like it! Happy TT!
Sounds like something for me - everything that involves food ;-)
Bacon icecream...? *Scream*
I've heard a lot of people rave about this show. I've got to check it out. Thanks for stopping by!
Why will undercooked beets will destroy you? I love geoduck, especially stuffed ;-)
I've never seen it before, but it sounds goodly :) Happy TT
Chicken livers and eggplant sound good right about now....minus the peanut butter.
Top Chef is a great show!
Happy TT!
Wow! I've never seen this one, but I might have to check it out. Sounds interesting.
I LOVEVVEEE Top Chef! I have missed this whole season, but that works for me- then I can just go online at a later date and watch the whole season at a whack!
I have to agree on the ingredients though. Sometimes they make those weird things LOOK yummy, but I still don't know if I would ever try sweetbreads... Or raw chicken sushimi (spelling?). Lol.
Happy TT and thanks for stopping by!
I've never watched Top Chef...sounds pretty bizarre.
Wow! Not any vending machine we have! Ours are full of junk!
I wonder what he would say if he tasted my cooking, LOL! Fun list.
