my thirteen definitions of true romance
1) true romance is spending days is him building a new rabbit barn
because i wanted one.
2) true romance is him taking out the garbage before i ask him to
3) true romance is him digging the garden the way i asked
him to even if it makes no sense to him
4) true romance is him relinquishing control of the remote
for my favorite show even though it is speed week and a race
is on
5) true romance is being able to hold hands without saying a
word and know that you are loved
6) true romance isn't always godiva chocolates and dinner
at a 4 star restarant, sometimes it's a butterfinger from
the handy way and breakfast at the waffle house
7) true romance is a kiss hello even after i've been sweating
in the garden all day and have a smudge on my nose
8) true romance is him cleaning up puppy poop, kid puke or digging
a new drain field
9) true romance is him never telling me my butt looks big in those pants
10) true romance is him kissing my stretch marks and telling me they're
a part of what makes me beautiful to him
11) true romance is him butchering chickens so i won't have to
12) true romance is him not batting an eyelash when i brood
yet another batch of chicks in the living room
13) true romance is me realizing that in spite of his shortcomings,
i'd marry him again tomorrow
